Blanc de Noirs [pronunciation: blahn-duh-nwah]
A sparkling wine made exclusively from red grapes; literally a “white of blacks.” It can be 100% pinot noir, 100% pinot meunier, or a blend of the two varieties. Note that the term blanc de noir is sometimes used in the New World to designate rosé sparkling wines, but in Champagne a blanc de noirs is a sparkling white wine.
