Grande Marque [pronunciation: gran mark]
A historic term used for the members of the Syndicat des Grandes Marques in Champagne, a prestigious organization composed of many of Champagne’s most famous houses. The Syndicat was disbanded in 1997, but the term grande marque continues to be used to refer to those brands, particularly in the United Kingdom.
